Today, in the village of Al-Jab’a, Palestinian, Israeli and international activists successfully removed a large section of an illegal earth mound roadblock. The demonstrators were able to achieve their objective, creating a passage wide enough to allow for a service taxi. During the demonstration, occupation military arrived and assaulted Palestinian, international and Israeli activists.

Six hours. This is how long Palestinians have to wait and submit to control before they can pass the terminal at in the West Bank, which leads either into Israel or further on to the Gaza Strip. The soldiers at the terminal deny this. “All they need is a permission from the District Coordination Office (DCO) and ID-papers and they’ll get through in one minute,” says Schlomo, who is the commander at the terminal.

In the town Idhna, a couple of kilometers from Tarqumia, seventeen thousand from a total of thirty-six thousand dunums have already been confiscated. Twenty-one hundred people live in Idhna and they are completely dependent on their land to survive. In 2005 three thousand dunums were stolen from the village when Israel stated to build the wall. On the other side of the wall there are seven thousand olive trees that belong to the citizens of Idhna. They can’t get to their land. Fifty wells have been either destroyed or made inaccessible at the same time as the wall was being built. The wells are on land behind the wall.

September 21, 2006, in the village of Al-Jab’a, Palestinian and international activists with the Palestine Solidarity Project partially removed an earth mound roadblock that separates the Palestinian village of Al-Jab’a from the Palestinian village of Surif.

In 2002, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) created the illegal roadblock to prevent the villagers of Surif and the villagers of Al’Jab’a to commute back and forth by car. The roadblock consists of dirt, large stones, at least five massive boulders, and more than nine 2-5 ton concrete slabs and blocks. September 20, 2006, in the village of Beit Ommar, activists with the Palestine Solidarity Project visited the farmland of Abu Jaber and his brother Abu Sameer. This is the third time that activists with the Project met with the farmers to document damage done to their land by nearby Israeli colonial settlers.

16th September 2006: A Bedouin family near the village of Susia was visited today by a group of internationals and Palestinians working for the PSP (Palestine Solidarity Project). An illegal Israeli settlement has been built to the south-east and the Palestinians’ land is being steadily encroached on. Abed Alrhmam Mousa has lost a huge amount of his grazing land already. In the last couple of days the settlers have erected tents only a kilometer from Abeds family.

On September 15, 2006, Palestinian and international activists, at request of local residents, removed and destroyed large sections of a razor wire barrier erected on Palestinian land in the Hebron region. The fence, which is designed to isolate and bisect a village, was repeatedly cut, metal stakes removed, and the razor wire ripped to be rendered unusable. The activists worked in teams, sabotaging the fence in many strategic areas. By the end of the action, the activists had destroyed large tracts of the barrier, and created more than six entry and exit points in the fence, allowing the residents of this village to move more freely. Abu Ayash and his family have owned and tended their land for around 100 years but are now facing increasing violence from the inhabitants of the nearby and ever expanding Israeli settlement Karme Zur. September 1, 2006, in the village of al-Khadr, in the Bethlehem region, Palestinian and international volunteers from Palestine Solidarity Project again removed a razor wire barrier serving as a preliminary basis for the Apartheid Wall. During the action, approximately 100 Palestinian and international demonstrators led a non-violent march and were stopped by Israeli Occupation soldiers on their way towards the Apartheid Wall.

The residents of the village left Friday prayers at the mosque and joined with international solidarity activists in a march through the village.
