Soldiers Threaten to Use Sound Bombs in Beit Ommar

Today PSP joined the weekly demonstration in Beit Ommar.Residents of Beit Ommar walked towards the illegal settlement of Karmei Tsur. About 20 soldiers had blocked the road and did not allow the demonstrators to continue to their fields.

Different entries where tried but soldiers blocked and finally threatened to use sound bombs. After some confrontations the demonstrators decided to retreat.

Yatta Demonstrates Against Land Theft

Friday October 7th: Following friday prayers, the popular Committee in Yatta led a demonstration against the theft of their land by Israel. Along with residents and land owners from Yatta, PSP joined Palestinians, Israeli and international activists, in walking to the demolished wells and houses belonging to inhabitants of Yatta.

As protesters marched through Yatta olive groves, the demonstration was halted by Israeli military forces, who attempted prevented the demonstrators from marching through their own fields.

French Solidarity Activists Visit Beit Ommar

This week a group of visitors from a catholic organization in France visited Beit Ommar and Center for Freedom and Justice. PSP arranged a guided tour and explained the local situation to their interested guests, as well as the five illegal settlements that surround Beit Ommar.

Plans for New Bypass Road on Beit Ommar and Shyoukh Land

PSP have gathered more information about the new settler-only bypass road being planned by the Israelis, which will cut through Beit Ommar and Shwoukh Land. Watch the documentary here:

New Bypass Road Planned on Beit Ommar and Shyoukh Land

New Bypass Road planned on Beit Ommar and Schoukh Land. Yesterday PSP visited the location for the new road. Watch the documentation here:

More than 800 dumums of Beit Ommar and Shwoukh land will be taken by the Israelies for a 8km bypass road, starting from Gush Etzion. The settlers have already built a watch tower on a hill top in the area – the first step to establish a new settlement. The road to the planned settlement on Halhoul land will go through Beit Ommar and Shwoukh land and join in on the route 60 by Halhoul.

Beit Ommar Demonstration - 1st October 2011

Saturday 1st October 2011: The weekly demonstration in Beit Ommar was peaceful. Residents from Beit Ommar marched through their own fields near the illegal settlement of Karmei Tsur, accompanied by many internationals and Israeli activists.

The demonstrators were stopped by approximately 20 soldiers and several milliary jeeps.

The demonstrators carried banners in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, and encouraged countries to vote for justice, freedom, and a Palestine state 194.

Demonstration against  land  grab in Yatta. September 30 th. 2011

September 30 th. 2011: PSP joined residents of Yatta on a land demonstration against the Israeli occupation, continuos expropriation of Palestinian land, and house demolitions.

Yatta with surrounding areas have a population of approximately 120 000 inhabitants. Many of the inhabitants live in small villages in remote areas.

The demonstrators walked towards the place where a couple of settler families have established themselves with miliary guard of no less than thirty soldiers.

Demonstration against land confiscation for new bypass road in Beit Ommar.

Friday September 30. : Residents of Beit Ommar demonstrated against recent received land confiscation orders. 800 dumums of Beit Ommar and Shwoukh land will be taken by the Israelies for a 8km bypass road, starting from Gush Etzion. English Classes at the Center for Freedom and Justice in Beit Ommar.

Lessons in English are now given at the Center for Freedom and Justice in Beit Ommar four days a week, Monday – Thursday.

At the moment there are classes on three different levels -beginners, intermediate and more advanced.

Center for Freedom and Justice aims to give lessons according to the students needs and wishes. Some of the students like to practice conversation, while others want to improve their grammar.
