On Friday May 10th 2013 clashes broke out in the town of Beit Ommar between the IOF and the people of the village. The violence began because the villagers demonstrated their continued solidarity with the prisoners under administrative detention in Israeli jails.
Twenty people were injured in total during the violent clash, the injuries varied in severity. Three people suffered from severe injuries to their heads from being shot with rubber bullets which included; Ibrahem Fathe Mohammad Awad 21 years old, Imad Ahmad Khalel Abu Hashem 24 and Ibrahem Khalel Mahmoud Abu Dayya 22 years. Theses young men were moved to Alya Hospital in Hebron to be treated for head aberrations from rubber coated bullets, they are in a good health now.
The IOF shot live bullets towards the car of Saber Ali Aldawada, the car was parked in front of his home and there was no one inside.
Red Crescent volunteers reported that they treated 17 injuries, ranging from wounds on the upper and lower sides of peoples bodies. Many people also suffered from the suffocating effect from tear gas inhalation including a 70 year old lady named, Hilwa Abed Alfattah Sabarna when soldiers shot tear gas inside her house. The soldiers also forcefully entered houses in the area of Beit Ze’ta in order to position themselves on the rooftops. The clouds of tear gas was heavy in the area and dozens of the people living there suffered the suffocating effects.
