Early Morning IOF Incursion

On Wednesday, August 7th, Beit Ommar was stormed at 2:00 am by around 70 IOF soldiers in three groups.
Beit Ommar residents reported tear gas, rubber bullets, and sound grenades were used in at least three location. In one instance, Beit Ommar residents were attacked with live ammunition.

The IOF arrested two minors: Mustafa Mohammad Awad, 16, and Ramzi Abdul-Hamid Al-‘Allamy, 15. Ramzi Al-’Allamy was also savagely beaten during the raid. For Ramzi Al-’Allamy, the arrest comes after only being free from prison for a few months.

There were five injuries from rubber bullets, two of them moderate, three mild. Thankfully, no one was hit by the live fire.

The invasion happened during late night festivities the day before Eid, while people were celebrating in the downtown area of Beit Ommar. Residents reported that youths burned an armored troop carrier during the incident, but no injuries to soldiers were reported.

The soldiers also searched several homes, causing property damage.

The invasion lasted until around 3:30 am, when ambulances came to pick up the injured.
