The Fourth Women’s Conference Resist for Chance Marking

Under the auspices of Hebron Governor, Mr Khamel Humeid, the 4th Women’s Conference ‘Resist to Change’ was held in Beit Ommar.

Mr. Khamel talked about the important role of Palestinian women in raising her children, while fighting against poverty. He also stressed the    need for developmental organizations to focus on the issue of empowering women.

Mr. Nassri Aubaid, the mayor of Beit  Ommar municipality, talked  about the role of women in fighting against  the occupation. Palestinians wish to live in peace within the borders of 1967. Mrs. Muna  Ammar talked about  the importance of resistance in  Palestinians life at that only by having faith and persistence we can restore our rights. She talked about  the story of restoring 120 donums of Beit Ommar  land after being sold to Israeli company.

Mrs. Amal Al joaba from Women’s Center for Legal Aid and counseling ’ spoke about women’s suffering in the old city .

Mrs. Dafna Bani form Mahsoum Watch talked about suffering of Palestinians on the chick points, she spoke also about suffering of people in their own towns and villages and suffering is not related only to boarders, it is everywhere were people are suffering from  Israeli regime

Sireen khudairi from  Jordan Valley Solidarity Campaign talked about the difficulties that Palestinians  are facing as a consequence of the occupation,95 % of the land has been occupied by military zones and settlements and most of the area is under control of the Israeli army. Many times without land, the families cannot maintain their animals. So, they can’t afford food. When there’s no job and with many children to take care, women are facing the last thing who they want, they are working in settlements. Besides of that, the settlers just pay around sixty shekels per day with no insurance or any kind of assistance for them or their family.

Fatiman Nawaja from , a  member of Cave Dwellers/ South Hebron Hills talked also about  rlocation and demolition orders in South Hebron Hills, she asked the Palestinian government to take more responsibility towards whom are living there in misery and to provide help in terms of electricity and water

Today, in our day, Palestinians women from Bethlehem, Beit Ummar, Hebron, Jordan Valley and other countries have discussed about these situationns and made a resolution about what we should do to resist the Israeli occupation and fight for our existence. We will organize committees in the south, middle and north of Palestine to support the people, bring Palestinians and internationals to know and understand our resistance and history, make documentaries and receive volunteers from all Palestine and World to fight with us. Thus, we invite all Palestinians and internationals to join us and support our people.
