Friday 26th of April the Popular Committee of Beit Ommar, PSP, members of the Women Committee together with international and Israeli activists organized their weekly demonstration near the settlement of Karmei Tzur.
The demonstrators had prepared one hundred balloons filled with helium. The activists made a parade, chanting slogans and carrying Palestinian flags and the balloons to the scene. Written messages with names of Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails were attached to the balloons and released into the air.

On the afternoon of April 19th violent clashes erupted between Beit Ommar youth and the Israeli Occupation Forces. The clashes took place close to the central market and the cemetery in the village of Beit Ommar and lasted for several hours.
The soldiers shot a lot of tear gas leaving dozens of people suffocating. The IOF also used rubber bullets and several people were injured because they were shot. Two persons were brought to the hospital with serious injuries; one person shot in his neck and the other person was shot in the hand that left him with a broken bone. On the 17th of April, settlers from the settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron city attacked the car of Ibrahim Khader Alama (36) at the entrance of Beit Ommar. The settlers started to destroy his car and threatened him with violence. The group was made up of four armed settlers, who shot into the air several times with live ammunition. Ibrahim was able to escape to one of the nearby houses.
The Israeli Occupation Forces and the Israeli Police arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, the settlers escaped in their cars. The IOF and Israeli Police did not actively pursue the settlers and the settlers were able to get away.

In the early morning of Wednesday April 17th, soldiers from the Israeli Occupation Forces entered the village of Beit Ommar. At 2.30 a.m., they surrounded the house of Mohammed Ahmad Abu Maria and his family.
The soldiers searched Mohammed’s house for two hours and destroyed many household items belonging to the family. After the search, the soldiers beat Mohammed before they arrested him.
Mohammed is only twenty-two years old, but has already spent three years and two months in Israeli prisons. He was released from prison two months ago and had just recently applied to continue his university studies at Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron.

14-Year old Nassim Abu Maria was released late Sunday 14th of April after spending 4 ½ months in Ofer Prison, which is located between Jerusalem and Ramallah. He was arrested during a surprise night raid and it was his first time in prison. During the night raid, soldiers came to his house unexpectedly at 3 am and he was told that he was being arrested because the soldiers possessed photos of him throwing stones. He was blindfolded, handcuffed and taken into custody. After ten court appearances, the soldiers were unable to bring forward the photos they allegedly possessed of Abu Maria’s stone throwing, yet, he was still sentenced to prison, without any evidence of his alleged political activity.

The Center for Freedom and Justice, a non-profit organization in the Palestinian village of Beit Ommar in Hebron District, is looking at new agricultural projects to support its inhabitants.
The Center for Freedom and Justice was established to address the lack of community development and has been organizing programs in rural Palestinian communities. Due to various problems concerning the Israeli occupation of the West Bank the Palestinian agricultural life is severely constrained. The organization aims to improve the lives of rural residents by supporting them to remain steadfast on their land so that confiscation of land and settlement expansion will be harder to accomplish.

On Sunday April 14th, 2013 a 15-year old boy named Mahmoud Suleiman Mahmoud Ikhlayel was shot in the back of his head with a steel-coated rubber bullet in Beit Ommar. He sustained serious injuries to his head and was taken to Hebron Hospital. The incident occurred amidst clashes between Palestinian children and Israeli soldiers that occurred throughout Sunday evening, beginning at around 5 pm.

On Friday, April 12th, 2013, an 11-year old girl named Asisah Abu Maria was shot in Beit Salah, near Road 60. Soldiers entered the area and shot tear gas and rubber bullets. The girl was on the roof of her house and was shot with a steal-coated rubber bullet in her chest. She was taken to Hebron hospital and is now in good condition.

Today PSP, the Popular Committee of Beit Ommar and Youth Power of Palestine organised an action in the village of Beit Ommar. PSP and the Popular Committee have been organising weekly demonstrations for years.
The Palestinian, Israeli and International activists gathered outside of Karme Tzure settlement, south of the centre of Beit Ommar. The activists wanted to get as close to the fence to the settlement as possible, to demonstrate their right to walk on their own land.

On the morning 10th of April Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian land in Saffa, a part of Beit Ommar village. Saffa often experience attacks like this. The settlers in question lives in the close by settlement called Bayt Ayin which is a part of the bigger Gush Eztion bloc. The settlers living in Bayt Ayin are known to be very aggressive and violent.
This morning the settlers cut olive trees in the Palestinian fields. They managed to cut dozens of trees. The land owner came to the scene and ended up being beaten by the settlers.
This incident was unfortunately not an isolated one. Both Palestinian land and people are attacked daily by settlers, throughout the West Bank.
