A 24 year old woman was being laid to rest January 24th in the Beit Ommar cemetery near the entrance to the village. The Israeli military immediately attacked the procession, as is more and more common in Beit Ommar. Video take by activists with PSP and Youth Power Palestine is below:

On 10th of October a funeral procession burying the late Ihmid Abu Maria was attacked by Israeli soldiers. The cemetery in the village has been closed off by the Israelis for years. Large, heavy stones are partly blocking the entrance to the burial site.
As the mourners, this morning, tried to enter the cemetery occupation soldiers attacked the civilians with tear gas, sound grenades and rubber bullets. Some of the people were suffocating from inhaling gas.

Further unrest took place in Beit Ommar yesterday, with occupation forces deploying riot control weaponry and injuring a number of Palestinians.
On the morning of September 11th 2012, local residents attempted to open the gates of Beit Ommar’s cemetery for the funeral of Maram Mohamed Mohsen Zaqiq, a twelve year old child who recently lost her battle against cancer. For a number of years, the Israelis have prevented access to the burial site, using large, heavy rocks to block the entrance and keeping the gate closed, but mourners who gathered in the morning attempted to haul the roadblock aside and reopen the gates. At 2 pm on June 21, the Israeli military shot a few canisters of tear gas and sound bombs onto the main road several hundred meters past the entrance to Beit Ommar. One man fell to the ground from tear gas inhalation and everyone in the street ran up the road to escape the tear gas. An Israeli military jeep, one APC and about ten soldiers stopped at the entrance to Beit Ommar and a few soldiers walked further down the road. On June 17, Israeli soldiers interrupted a funeral by throwing tear gas canisters all over the surrounding region. Eventually the tear gas started a fire near three homes and grape and olive fields. Several Beit Ommar residents and a fire truck with high-pressure hoses
spent over a half and hour working to put out the fire. The soldiers then closed the
entrance to Beit Ommar and did not allow anyone in or out of the village. When one Beit
