Women’s Co-op

PSP is working to support a women’s cooperative shop in the Old city of Hebron. The shop sells the embroidery work of over 100 women from several villages in the Hebron district and is the only shop managed exclusively by women in the Old City. There have been recent attempts to revitalize the Old City of Hebron where the vast majority of shops have been closed for several years since violent extremist Israeli settlers have moved in to upper-story apartments overlooking the Old City. These Israeli settlers often attack and intimidate the shop owners and the Israeli military has on several occasions simply shut down the Palestinian-owned shops in the area. Despite the extreme challenges, a group of women began selling their handcrafted scarves, bracelets, handbags, shirts, dresses and many other embroidery projects in a small shop at the heart of the Old City. The project has grown to include over 100 women.

THESE WOMEN NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
